G36 Glock - In the world of concealed carry semi-automatic pistols, the Glock 36 is a weapon that is often discussed. This polymer handgun is designed specifically with self-defense and comfort in mind. The one-piece Glock G36 also brings plenty of firepower to the table as it is chambered in .45 ACP.

For the shooter looking for a highly concealable subcompact pistol that doesn't compromise stopping power, this Glock model is a solid choice. Although there are some interesting features that most people should be aware of before buying.

That's all you need to know about the powerful and easy-to-carry Glock 36 handgun.

Xdm .45 Acp 3.8″ Compact Is The Tardis Of Handguns

Glock Pistols classifies the 36 as one of its compact models, along with guns like the Glock 26 and Glock 30. That means it's smaller than a full-size like the 17. However, the overall frame size is slightly smaller than the 3.78-inch barrel of the Glock 19.36 in length and an overall length of 6.97 inches.

The biggest noticeable difference between the Glock 36 and 30 is the width. The 36 has a skid plate width of just one inch and an overall width of 1.18 inches compared to the Gen 4 G30's 1.38 inches. That might not sound like much, but it makes all the difference in the world when it comes to hidden stocks. The G36 is simply easier and more comfortable to carry in the waistband (IWB) than the 30.

This "slimline" profile also makes the G36 lighter. It comes in at 26.81 ounces with a fully loaded magazine compared to the G30's 33.69 ounces. If you're wondering what the catch is, it depends on the magazine capacity. The G36 uses single-stack magazines that only hold six .45 ACP rounds. The G30 holds 10. This means that most shooters have to make compromises when deciding which striker-fired polymer body pistol is best for them. You could argue that capacity doesn't matter with a heavy hitter like the .45 ACP, but some people feel more peace of mind with the extra ammo. It all comes down to personal choice.

As we already mentioned, compared to some of the heavier options on the market, the 36 is huge. If you want the stopping power of a .45 ACP but don't want a heavy gun weighing down your gun belt all day, this is a great choice. Thanks to this slim frame, you're less likely to run into printing issues when wearing the 36 under light clothing like a T-shirt or light jacket.

The small profile of this semi-automatic pistol makes it a good choice for women and people with small hands. The Glock 30 has a much thicker profile, and some find the 36 fits their ergonomics better in their hands without sacrificing the smaller caliber.

The big downside to 36 is that those six-round tickets are thin and have a unique following. This means that, like many other Glock magazines, they are not interchangeable with handgun models of the same caliber. Even Glock has yet to update the Gen 3 version of the 36 back. The Gen 3 guns aren't bad, but if you want the later gen grip design and interchangeable backstraps, you'll need to look into aftermarket options like the Pierce Grip to improve the 36's handling.

The slim design of the 36 makes it easy to conceal, but since the gun is lighter, it offers a bit more recoil. Some people may find it hard to control or too nimble compared to the G30. It might not be the ideal weapon for someone going into concealment for the first time. You may need to test shoot both to find out which works best for you.

Although we mentioned a few drawbacks above, the Glock 36 is a great gun to add to your arsenal, especially if you do a lot of undercover. After all, it has the Glock Safe Action trigger safety design, which is simplicity at its best. The gun is ready to strike when you need it, without a manual safety. Later parts may be considered for a night sight or a sharper trigger pull. However, you may be better off with the stock G36.

Glock 30 & 36

Keep in mind that most self-defense encounters involving a firearm usually end in a few shots. Depending on the type of bullet you use, you can get anywhere from 800 to 1,200 fps muzzle velocity out of a .45 ACP. More than enough to make an attacker pause, or at least think twice. Honestly, you'll find that even the most dedicated G36 fans don't care that there are only six RDs in magazines.

Overall, the Glock 36 is an excellent weapon for anyone looking for an effective and concealable self-defense option that won't let you down when needed. In a package that fits in the hand of every user.

Glock G36 White Dot/Outline Sights 45 Auto (ACP) 3.78” Black Nitride Pistol - 6+1 Shots - The Glock 36 offers the next dimension in grip ergonomics. The single-stack Glock magazine allows for a slide-like narrow frame and reduced width. Combined with the safe grip design and the minimal distance between the trigger and the grip, this makes handling the pistol very simple. This is the best defensive choice I can make in a handgun. It's compact so it goes anywhere and the .45 is a proven combat stop for you. It jumps when fired as expected, but a tight grip and a little travel practice makes it much easier. If you don't mind a little muzzle jump, this is an excellent defensive handgun.

Buy one, send the slide to a Glock shop for a predator, have the barrel made with titanium nitride, install all the extended guides available, get a tungsten guide rod, a pyramid trigger, a couple of magazine extensions and what do you do. i think i have the ultimate carry gun.

Wear inside the waistband and you can go without the print in shorts and a t-shirt in the summer heat. In autumn/winter, with a light jacket or sweater, it is invisible. With one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the mag (+1 extension), you have 8 rounds of .45 acp at your disposal, which is more than enough to handle critical events with ease.

G36 Glock

Don't get me wrong, I love the G43 and now that I have the trigger on my Springfield XD 45 I like it better. But the G36 epitomizes what a concealed carry gun should be.

Vintage Don Hume Glock 36 G36 H721 Double 9 Black Leather Holster

I think this is one of the most underrated Glock models. For the .45 ACP enthusiast, this is a great CC choice. I equipped my G36 with Glock night sights, a 3.5lb trigger bar, an aftermarket trigger, and a Pierce +0 grip extension. It has surprisingly low recoil.

Now that it is possible to attach a light or laser to the frame, I expect this design to grow in popularity.

I hope Glock continues to update the G36 and expand their individual lines with the growing success of the G42 and G43.

A must have stock if you're looking for a singular, awesome and super smooth shooter. I ended up getting one that was compatible with the rail accessories.

I bought a Glock 36 when they first came out to replace my back pistol (SW640).

It became my EDC concealed weapon when the G21 was retired and the 640 was still strapped to my ankle.
